Raped and Impregnated by a Monster Back in the 80's Part 6: The Prometheus Factor

I have re-catogerized this post, which is really about the film Prometheus, as part of a series of reviews dealing with films from the 80's in which a woman is raped and impregnated by a monster of some kind or other. I have done this because even the fifth post in the series, about the obscure film Redneck Zombies, has now gotten over a hundred hits. Prometheus is a current film, coming out in the beginning of next month, but the topic of 80's films in which a woman is raped and impregnated by a monster came up in writing about information that is surfacing about Prometheus from trailers and TV spots, and so I have entitled the post as such so that it gets attention. So this will sort of settle something-The space jockeys from Alien are clearly in Prometheus (the upcoming prequel to Alien) but the primary monster in Prometheus is not a Xenomorph per say but something akin with at least four different life stages that is apparently "every woman's worst nightmare". That's what Hollywood Reporter is saying at least. I'm going to take a guess from trailers this involves alien impregnation of some kind, which has been an extremely popular topic on this blog. I find the wave of "woman is raped by a monster and gives birth to a baby monster" films from the eighties like Inseminoid, Xtro, and Humanoids from the Deep to be pretty poor films to be honest. But I found if I wrote on this films or referenced tentacle hentai (Japanese animated porn involving women being raped by monsters with tentacles) that I would get huge numbers of hits, largely, it appears to be, from people looking for pornography. Prometheus had a budget over a hundred million dollars. Based on that, I assume what we will see in Prometheus has a better quality then Inseminoid, which I've read described, I would say accurately, as a low budget British rip off of the original Alien. Prometheus has been rated R and not NC-17, so it probably won't be as extreme as films like Human Centipede 2, A Serbian Film or the Bunny Game. However, I have a feeling this bit with the new alien creature with at least four different life stages that is described as "every woman's nightmare" gets fairly gross and involves reproductive organs. As we can see clearly from the trailer, there is something alien moving down around the Elizabeth Shaw character's reproductive areas, and we hear her screaming, so I would assume from that, that that's pretty much the idea. The specifics aren't fully publicized at time of writing.

However, I'm really intrigued, if not obsessed, with Prometheus. Xtro I can do without, to be honest. I think if we're ever going to see a mature development or well done version of the themes of alien impregnation we see in 80's films like Xtro and Inseminoid (perhaps strongly influenced by the original Alien) it's probably going to be in Prometheus and/or subsequent sequels to Prometheus which they're already talking about doing. Of course, the great likelihood is that many people who read this post will be people looking for tentacle hentai or some other form of pornography involving women being raped by monsters. Those people probably don't care at all what my opinions on things like "body horror" are. It is what it is. I don't see the attraction with tentacle hentai, but I'm very excited about Prometheus.
